- BYD Auto introducing Seal, an all-electric sedan, in India.
- Seal features a powerful 82.5 kWh battery with a 700 km range.
- Priced around Rs 50 lakh, it competes with Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
BYD Auto is getting ready to bring another electric car to India called the Seal. This will be their third model in India, joining the Atto 3 SUV and e6 MPV. The Seal is an all-electric sedan. People can start booking it with dealers, even though it’s not officially launched yet. Some people have seen the Seal being tested near Chennai.
The Seal will have a big battery, around 82.5 kilowatt-hours (kWh), which can make the car go up to 700 kilometers without needing to charge again. It’s expected to cost about Rs 50 lakh. This car will compete with Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and Kia’s EV6.
The Seal will come with two motors, one for each axle, making a total power of 530 horsepower and 670 Newton-meters of torque. This means it can go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour. It’s quite heavy, about 2.2 tonnes.
The car is quite long, wide, and tall, with a spacious boot and a small front trunk. It looks very stylish with its sleek design, glass roof, cool LED lights, and unique features inspired by the ocean.
The price of the Seal is expected to be around Rs 50 lakh. Once the price is announced on March 5, people who booked it can start getting their cars. Even though there’s no direct competition, it will compete with similar-priced electric cars like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
So, BYD Auto is all set to launch its new electric car, the Seal, in India. With its long driving range, powerful motors, and stylish design, it’s aiming to attract buyers who are looking for a premium electric car experience.
